Questions to ask Photographers
How long have you been photographing weddings specifically?
They should have no less than 3 years experience - 10+ weddings.
How much deposit do you require?
This will also vary between photographers. We require 1/3 of the total.
Do you have insurance
A real Professional vendor will have insurance! Yes we have insurance.
Do you have backup equipment?
All photographers should have at least 1 backup camera, flash and several lenses.
Do you shoot in RAW format?
The answer should be yes! When you shoot in jpeg format the camera is doing some of the processing work for the photographer. Shooting in RAW is more work for us after the wedding, but gives us more control over how the overall image should look.
Can I see a full wedding
Don't just look at the pretty "money" shots, look at a full wedding. From getting ready to the last dance!
What do you consider your style?
This will vary between photographers. We are what I like to call a hybrid. We can do classic portraits, true photojournalistic, and very artistic images. It all depends on what YOU as the couple want!
Can I call former clients for reference?
You should ask if former couples would mind sending you a reference. We can inundate you with people if you want!!!
Do you have room lighting?
Photographers should have more than just the flash on their camera to help light up a room. We do have this.
Will I be able to print my own images?
All investments are different. We give you printing rights to your images. They are high resolution and un-watermarked.
Are the images print ready or do they have to be retouched
Again, this varies with photographers. I offer images color corrected, tone corrected, and some with light retouching.
Can I give you a list of images I would like?
No photographer should give you a hard time with this. They may say they cannot promise everything on your list. We encourage this, and recommend sending us your pinterest board or images you have found you like.
How will you or anyone with you be dressed?
Professionally dressed photographers do not wear jeans...its rude.
